We have listed below some of your commonly asked questions about our lash and brow treatments.
If your question ist not answered here, please contact us.
Q: I'm not sure what COMBINAL treatment is right for me?
A: There are 3 treatments available:
• Permanent tint (COMBINAL Permanent Lash and Brow Tint)
• Semi permanent tinting (COMBINAL Semi Permanent Mascara)
• Colorless, permanent curl, can be combined with the other two treatments (COMBINAL Lash Perm)
We’d also suggest our Austrian customers visit your nearest salon licensed by Dr. Temt for a professional consultation with one of our trained technicians. Find a list of salons here.
Your technician will be able to further discuss your eye shape, desired look and lifestyle to find the perfect treatment for you. Depending on what events you have coming up, you may be suited to different treatments at different times.
Q: Can I still wear normal make-up following a COMBINAL coloration treatment?
A: It depends on your treatment:
• COMBINAL Permanent Lash and Brow Tint: Yes you can. However we recommend using water-based mascara only.
• COMBINAL Semi Permanent Mascara: Yes you can. However we recommend avoiding eye make-up removers containing oils or waterproof removers, so not to damage the freshly applied color coating.
Following a COMBINAL Semi Permanent Mascara treatment it is best to leave the eye area free of make-up for 24 hours to allow the treatment to reach its full effect, but then you are free to apply make-up as normal.
• COMBINAL Lash Perm: Eye make up and mascara can both be applied.
Q: How can I find a salon in my area offering one of the COMBINAL treatment types?
A: If you visit our Salon Finder page you are able to filter by treatment to see which options are available in your local area. Alternatively, if your local salon doesn’t currently offer a treatment you are looking for, perhaps talk to them about your interest. They can then visit our Information Area for Professionals to explore the training options available to them.
Q: Do COMBINAL Semi Permanent Mascara treatments damage your lashes?
A: No. All of our lashes technicians are trained to the highest technical standard. So providing your lash treatment is performed correctly, and you follow the aftercare instructions provided by your technician, you will not damage your natural eyelashes. This includes returning to the salon for any maintenance and removal procedures where required. However, some people are unaware that your eyelashes naturally shed every 90 days. So if your natural eyelash falls out, whilst being coated with Semi Permanent Mascara it may simply be at the end of its cycle and will naturally grow back.
Q: I am a contact lens wearer. Can l still have a treatment?
A: Yes, all treatments are suitable for those who wear contact lenses. We recommend you to remove your lenses prior to the treatment.
Q: What do I need to do before having my lashes or brows tinted with a COMBINAL treatment?
A: Prior to booking your first treatment, we recommend visiting your salon to discuss the treatment and look you have in mind to ensure it will have the desired outcome. Your technician will then be able to tailor the treatment to you, or suggest a better alternative. Also, prior to your first treatment you must visit your salon to complete a patch test to check for any sensitivity to the products used. This must be completed a minimum of 24 hours prior to your treatment.
Q: Are COMBINAL tinting treatments painful?
A: Our treatments are not painful, and most clients actually find them quite relaxing. It’s an opportunity to lie back and close your eyes for up to 45 minutes!
Q: How long will my treatment take?
A: That depends on the treatment you undertake.
• COMBINAL Lash and Brow Tint: Dependent on desired look and your technician’s experience, from 5 - 15 minutes.
• COMBINAL Semi Permanent Mascara: 30 - 45 minutes
• COMBINAL Lash Perm: 30 – 45 minutes depending on the thickness and strength of your lashes. The perm and dye treatments can be are combined.
Q: How long will my lashes last?
A: Again, this depends on which treatment you have done.
• COMBINAL Lash and Brow Tint: 3-4 weeks
• COMBINAL Semi Permanent Mascara: 2-3 weeks
• COMBINAL Lash Perm: 3-4 weeks
Q: Do I need to go back to my salon to have my Semi Permanent Mascara removed?
A: Yes. To prevent any long-term damage to your natural eyelashes, we recommend returning to salon to have your Semi Permanent Mascara professionally removed. At the end of your treatment, your technician will discuss when you should return for removal.
This excludes permanently colored lashes and brows, where the effect will simply wear away over time as your lashes progress through their natural growth cycle. Note: The eye sheds its lashes every 90 days. Your lashes will grow back as part of their growth cycle.
Q: What is COMBINAL Lash Perm?
A: This creates a soft curl across the entire length of your eye lashes. COMBINAL Perm treatment curls the lashes with a focus at the root. This creates a more upright lift and as a result a more dramatic lengthening effect.
Q: Why is a COMBINAL Lash Perm different from a standard lash perm?
A: A standard lash perm curls the entire lash. This creates a soft curl across the entire length of your eye lashes. This has the unfortunate effect of possibly making your lashes appear shorter than they are - similar to the effect of curled hair.
However the COMBINAL Perm treatment curls the lashes with a focus at the root. This creates a more upright lift and as a result a more dramatic lengthening effect.
Different levels of curl are available depending on the look you are seeking to create. The COMBINAL line also includes a lash tint. Creating a mascara style effect, and the appearance of added length and volume.
Q: I've had an allergic reaction. What should I do?
A: Signs of an allergic reaction are redness, swelling, itching, burning and pain in the eye. If you think you are experiencing a reaction to a COMBINAL treatment, we recommend returning to your salon immediately for a removal of the Semi Permanent Mascara coating. If the reaction is significant, or you are unable to return to salon please contact alternative medical assistance - do not wait. Prior to any treatment being performed it is essential that you follow the pre-treatment procedure and patch test (provided by your technician) to prevent the risk of an allergic reaction.
Q: Can I go swimming?
A: You cannot get your lashes wet for the first 2 hours following permanent dye application, or 24 hours for Semi Permanent Mascara. However, to keep your lashes looking their best we do recommend avoiding full submersion of the lash in water (through activities such as swimming) for the first 48 hours.
